I recently taught two contemporary dance classes at Pineapple Dance Studios, Covent Garden, London.
They were great fun!
First was Friday’s intermediate/advanced class. And I’m not going to lie, I was really rather nervous to teach this. Having been a professional dancer in London I know what it is like to go to these classes. You spent about a fiver on the tube getting there, pay to get into Pineapple and then pay again for the class. So it ends up being really rather costly as well as taking up a lot of your time. SO the pressure really is on for it to be a good class. Because of this, I was really nervous. However, I needn’t have been. All the dancers loved the class. Some feedback I got was that they loved how sweaty they became, my music choices and the amount we threw ourselves around the space. Everybody really seemed to have a great time and we all danced to our hearts content, as well as enjoying ourselves.
Saturday was a beginners class, and was very busy. I forgot how much London beginners going to Pineapple really are not beginners. No plee explanation needed at all! Which was great. We could fire right through the class. Again, feedback was great and I really just had a brilliant time teaching here.
It was great to be back in London and to see old friends, and I see so honoured to have been able to teach at Pineapple. It’s always great to be able to put together a technique class with all your favourite music and to dance with new people.
Many of the participants asked if I had any regular classes that they could attend. Maybe this something that I should look into……..
